'People are afraid' - why 'powerhouse' Arsenal are the team to beat.

The proof is undeniable why Arsenal have become numerous fans' favorites to claim the Premier League this season.

Look at their performances against West Ham and Crystal Palace in contrast with those identical matches during the prior term.

The Gunners have defeated all of them during this campaign, but dropped 10 points across those games as they fell away in the title race previously.

Impenetrable Rearguard

Arsenal's backline resilience is a key reason why they are seeming ready to at last realize their title goal.

They stand first for shutouts (6), goals conceded (3), attempts against (72), quality opportunities against (19) and xGA (5.3).

The central defensive pairing of Gabriel and William Saliba is arguably the strongest in the league, with Arsenal maintaining a clean sheet in six of their first nine games.

Dead-Ball Superiority

Their danger from dead balls is well known, but rival sides still struggle to neutralize the Gunners from these opportunities.

They have scored 11 times from set-pieces in the league, two more than any other side, with 69% of their goals coming from these situations.

"Arsenal can do a bit of everything now. The whole team has a fear factor. People are just fearful of them and it is great to see."

Championship Credentials

What is even more impressive about Arsenal's commencement to the campaign is they have also played Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle United on the road and Manchester City in their own stadium - and are still four points clear at the top.

While they continue triumphing, their historic competitors face difficulties. This marks the premier instance at this stage of the season since 1992 that none of Manchester City and United, Liverpool or Chelsea are in the Premier League top four.

The scrutiny was on manager Mikel Arteta at the beginning, having invested around £250m on eight summer additions in search of that coveted first title since 2004.

But the business has so far yielded results in style, with his side second top scorers in the league and possessing the tightest defense, despite multiple injuries.

  • Clean sheets in three straight Premier League games
  • Nearly 6.5 hours without conceding a goal
  • Only a trio of goals in 12 games across every tournament

Former players and experts have labeled Arteta's men as a "unstoppable force, looking hard to stop" with the whole club now operating with confidence and purpose.
